Royal Family Kids' Camps-Arvada, Colorado We are Royal Family Kids' Camps-Arvada; a non-profit, tax-deductible, all-volunteer, life changing, five-day (Monday-Friday) summer camp experience targeted to Denver Metro foster families and children (ages 7-11) with shattered lives due to abuse and neglect. View our RFKC-Arvada brochure (Adobe PDF file).  Adobe Reader can be added to your computer (install free Adobe Reader).

RFKC offers a unique opportunity for foster children (ages 7-11) to receive individual attention with a 1:1 camper to adult ratio. God's love is modeled consistently through the games, sports, crafts, Bible stories, drama and quet times the campers share within their team of Guides.

RFKC-Arvada is a unique cooperative venture among approximately 20 Christian churches, local business and community leaders. During 2009, over 700 individuals and businesses will join together to volunteer, support, plan and raise funds to create a week long, unique, high quality camp experience sensitively designed to meet the needs of children ages 7-11 without permanent families. Our coordinating camp sponsor for all of our 17 years is Arvada Covenant Church.

During 2009, 101 volunteers invested a week at camp to care for, and have great fun with, 89 young campers from 10 Colorado counties with tattered lives from the Denver Metro area (View our RFKC-Arvada camp video). Warning! Viewing this may hook you!

RFKC- Arvada is affiliated with RFKC, Inc., the leading international non-profit which organizes summer camp experiences for these boys and girls experiencing deep heartaches. In 2009, 145 RFKC camps in 37 states and 19 in 9 countries will impact over 8,000 young campers. For one week each summer RFKC-Arvada plans and creates a fun, inspirational and life-changing outdoor mountain experience with sensitive adults.

RFKC -Arvada is fully licensed with the State of Colorado. Our next camp will take place during June 20-25, 2010.

King's Team started in 2002 focusing upon 12 -15 year old "graduates" of RFKC. Extending their RFKC camp experience into their teen years enables these teens to continue the RFKC experience to the years of life that are often the most challenging. Visit the King's Team website by clicking here.

Past Results and Planned Events

We are so grateful for the many who planned and who attended our big 2009 event, Rendezvous at the Royal Ranch. Our April 18, 2009 live/silent auction netted over $20,000! Thank you, so very much!!! For more information, please click the 'Events' link at the bottom of the page. Let us know if you want to be involved for next year's event.

For the first time, RFKC-Arvada hosted the Royal Ride in September 2007, a family recreational bicycle family rally for all ages. On September 13, 2008 the fun expanded on the Clear Creek Bicycle Trail to include walking to directly support our 2009 camp. Six area churches participated in helping increase awareness of our special campers. Be a Volunteer at Camp or in Other Supporting Roles!

At camp, adult volunteers enter the emotional world of these young campers communicating in many ways that there is a God who personally values them. Camp volunteers demonstrate compassion and tenderhearted care while engaging in fun and challenging outdoor activities where focused care helps insecure children feel safe and loved.

As a camp volunteer, you commit to 5 full days in a traditional summer camp environment. All camp volunteers are intensively screened with a background check, matched with roles fitting abilities, and trained to high RFKC and State of Colorado standards. You will be a part of an experienced team (ages 18-80) that will have a purpose-filled week. Camp volunteers report that RFKC deeply impacts their lives and faith.

This outreach is great for families with adult children children over 18 who will share an unforgettable experience together serving along side with other volunteers with professional qualifications. You will have the opportunity make a difference in our campers' lives by giving each child positive memories on which they need to draw on in the future, showing and telling them that they are valuable, and helping them rely on God for hope. For a first hand account check out this Channel 9 News link that has a video link inside.

The deadline for new adult camp volunteer applications is March 20, 2010. Story of the Week

  • A Precious Memory
  • I (the Director) recently received a call from Mission WV, an organization that helps foster children find adoptive homes. They informed me that they had a small visitor at their office the other day that showed up to have his pictures taken for the Heart Gallery (one of their great programs to showcase kids who are up for adoption).
